Last Pictures with Buddy.

We had a great day at the school with all the activities today, but when we got home we saw how bad Buddy was. He was really struggling to move and had not gotten up all day. Since Grandma was over Allan and I decided to take him to the vet to see what we could do for him. His surgery "went well" and we never in a million years expected this. If we could have seen that he would have never made it 2 weeks after surgery we would have never done it. It is horrible how he suffered with the pain from the surgery.

Madison said she didn't want a picture with Buddy because she knew why we were taking them. She was so upset. I told her if she didn't have just one she would regret it when it would be too late. So she willingly went next to him for this sad shot :-( What's worse is the background shows his blood on the pay kitchen. He was still bleeding from the drains put in during surgery.

Madison was able to perk up after everyone else was taking pictures and I'm so glad she did. These are really cute of him and her together.

Thankfully the vet told us to wait another week to see how he is doing. I couldn't stop crying from the minute we pulled up and the vet could see Buddy had a week or so of life left. Buddy refused to look at us while we were at the vet. He buried his head in the corner and would not respond to us until we were back in the waiting room, and he actually smiled, he wasn't ready to go yet. The vet gave us some pain pills for him and said to wait it out and enjoy the last days together. We all knew he wouldn't get better but nobody wanted the end to come.
